Wedding Aisle Runners
Church wedding decorations may include an aisle runner. It is usually unrolled AFTER the last bridesmaid and before the flower girl or miniature bride. The processional is paused while one or two of the ushers go to the front of the church and carefully roll the aisle runner down to meet the bride. It is important that the bride and her escort do not step on the runner until the usher is past them. That way he can secure the runner by either taping or standing on the end so the the runner doesn't become entangled in her train. You may wish to have the runner taken up after the bridesmaids and groomsmen have exited and before the guests are excused. This will give the bride a few moments to greet her parents and the members of her wedding party.
