Rose Corsage Wire Stems
Keep corsages fresh longer with a water source! These special wire picks have an absorbent tip that, when soaked, will keep your roses and other large headed flowers fresh longer in corsage work. Simply soak the absorbent end in water mixed with a flower nutrient. Cut your rose close to the bulb of the flower. Carefully insert the wire up into the flower until the wet portion is firmly against the bottom of the flower head. Insert another wire (22 gauge is best) thru the bulb and fold down parallel to the Rose stem.
Tape with corsage tape. Continue the same with the rest of your flowers. Now wire the flowers together as usual for the corsage. If you prefer to glue, snip the Rose Corsage stem short and glue into bow with flower glue. (Note: other glue, such as hot glue, may turn brittle when refrigerated - flower glue does not).
These stems are also available for smaller stemmed flowers and for hollow stems (such as stephanotis).
